My Ride-Or-Die Skin Products

After I announced what happened to me with a brand on Instagram, I actually got a lot of questions about what skincare products I use. So here it is! I don't switch up my products very often but will try to do an update on skincare maybe twice a year?

If you missed what I talked about on stories, here is a blurb:

I did a campaign with a pretty big company last year and they were not happy when I wanted to pull out. We were supposed to shoot two products but one did NOT work for my skin. In fact, it made my eyes super puffy and swollen. It felt wrong to move forward with the campaign, so I let them know. They sent an extremely rude and harsh response saying I needed to go forward with the campaign and that I should be honored to have been picked. We came to an agreement that I would only post one of the products. The agreement felt very forced but I thought it was my only way out. I didn't want this brand to ruin my future on my platform. This, of course, put me off working with brands for a year...

The products listed in this post are some that I cannot live without! I have extremely sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts. Diet actually plays a huge role in my skin so I only try new products if I have been eating clean.

A little disclaimer, if my skin is going through a freakout (breakout, dry spell, allergic reaction, etc...) I will put on a thick layer of moisturizer, then stop using all products altogether until it clears.

Cleanser

Murad Prebiotic 4-in-1 MultiCleanser - I was sent this in a PR box a year ago and repurchased it once I ran out! It's a super lightweight cleanser so I recommend if you don't wear heavy makeup. It's only the second cleanser I have ever tried but it works for me!

Makeup Remover

Sensibio H2O Sensitive Skin Micellar Water - Removes my makeup so easily! Perfect for sensitive / acne-prone skin. Not much to report besides it works and I highly recommend!

Face Wash

Origins Checks and Balances - I have bought this face wash over and over again. It's perfect if you have oily or combination skin. This really controls my oils but doesn't leave me with dry skin. I love how clean and soft my skin feels after. The best part is you only need use to a tiny bit, it thickens up with water (frothy baby!).

Moisturizer

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream - It has taken me years to find a moisturizer that does not irritate my skin. This one has been the best thus far! It is thick, not greasy, and deeply hydrating. My makeup sits really nicely on top of it. When I was in Hawaii I broke out from dermatitis all over my cheeks (we think I was allergic to the laundry detergent they used for the pillows) and this was the only thing that calmed my skin down. Highly recommend for those with sensitive skin!

Prima Skin Therapy CBD Ultra-Rich Body Butter - I have very dry and cracked legs that need nourishing 24/7. This CBD body butter has a nice thick texture that truly soothes your legs (or wherever you put it). Yes, there is a heavy earthy scent to it but it's better than a product smelling like chemicals (IMO).

Sunscreen

EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF - This sunscreen has great reviews online and I agree with all of them! Oil-free sunscreen that calms and protects sensitive skin. It's very lightweight and works well on its own or under makeup. No clogged pores or greasy feeling, you can't go wrong!

Serums

MAELOVE Glow Maker - I didn't realize how amazing this serum was until I stopped using it. It has completely transformed my skin in every way. I can't handle a lot of serums and especially ones that have a high content of Vitamin C. This one is a mix of Vitamin C, E, Ferulic Acid, and Hyaluronic Acid. This is great for skin texture, uneven skin tones and so much more! If I have a breakout, this serum usually makes it clear up. Please read the reviews on the website, I can't say enough good things about this!

EyeGels

Patchology MoodPatch Chill Mode Eye Gels - So so refreshing. I always notice a reduction in puffiness and my skin is left hydrated. Also, they don't burn my eyes like other eye patches! (waiting for a new shipment so not pictured).

Tanners

Tan-Luxe Self-Tan Drops (face only) - I mix 3-4 drops with my moisturizer and apply it all over my face.  It gives you the most natural glow and is so easy to apply. Promise it's foolproof! I have uneven skin tone on my forehead (melasma) and this product really evens it out. I use the light/medium color and it gives a nice subtle tan. I would say there are two downsides, I'm not a fan of the smell (it smells like tanner) and it can make my skin irritated if my skin is already going through it.

+Lux Unfiltered Self-Tanning Cream (body only)- This tanning cream made me throw out all of the other self-tanners I own, it's that good! The color is by far the best on the market. It lasts pretty long and it's so easy to apply. After a few minutes, you can throw your clothes on and not worry about messing up the tan. I would say if you are on the more pale side, less is more when applying!

Lip Balm

Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm - I don't care what anybody says, this is the holy grail of lip balms. The scent is heavenly and leaves my lips so smooth and hydrated. I will forever buy till the day I die (dramatic). But really, other lip balms make the dead skin on my lips noticeable, it's really weird.

Tools

Skin Gym Jade Facial Roller - I use this almost every morning to reduce the appearance of puffiness and fine lines. I love how the jade has a calming property that is naturally cooling and feels amazing on your skin. I'm sure there are cheaper ones you could buy off Amazon but this is the one I use. It also helps with penetrating products deeper into your skin.

Nurse Jamie Instant UpLift Massaging Roller - This roller has massaging black tourmaline stones all around it which help with firmness and elasticity. My face looks more lifted after I use this. Unlike the jade roller I avoid using this around eyes and other sensitive areas. To be honest if I had to pick between the rollers, I would stick with the jade.

Products I'm currently trying out

These are products that I've recently added to my routine but haven't used long enough to add to the ride-or-die list.

L'OCCITANE Hand Cream - The rumors are true, I have old lady hands. I've neglected these poor little hands my entire life but want to change that! The cream makes them soft so I hope in a few weeks they will look more hydrated. I got the mini tube to try out + it's easier to throw in my bag.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator - I haven't used an exfoliator since the St Ives Apricot Scrub days so I would say I have a little PTSD. The reviews were good on this one and I'm only using it 1-2x a week but I feel like the beads are very rough. I'm new to this exfoliator world so I assume this is normal? Feel free to comment below and give me the 411!

OLEHENRIKSEN Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner - Been using this for one month so far, haven't noticed a difference but will finish the bottle just to make sure. I have melasma on my forehead so trying to find something to really break it up.
